The One Where Bertram Didn't Want To Be Taken Out Of Gran's Room

Don't Stop Believin'

Mood: fresh and clean

After consulting AllMusic.com, I now have Journey's 1981 album Escape in the queue to download. Although it doesn't have my personal favorite, "Wheel in the Sky", it does have the hits "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Open Arms". AllMusic gave this album four-and-a-half stars, so I figure it should be a safe bet. Plus, it's one of Journey's longer albums, clocking in at a whopping 42:39. I really hate albums under 45 minutes, so it was nice that one of their best albums comes pretty close to that.

I'm suddenly feeling very tired. I should rest a bit before Bella comes over.

The One Where We Look Really Good With Godson Evan

Burning Madness

Mood: getting tired

The "burning madness", contrary to popular opinion, has nothing to do with a mental disorder. Nor does it pertain to making CD's of that 80's band. But it does indeed mean I've been burning the midnight oil--also not the band--as I burn CD's. My collection that I take with me to work was growing stale, so it needed some fresh ingredients. The close to 20 CD's that I added include the likes of Us3's Hand on the Torch, The Polyphonic Spree's The Beginning Stages of... and Together We're Heavy, The Neville Brothers' Greatest Hits, Jamiroquai's Synkronized, Iron Butterfly's The Best of Iron Butterfly - Light and Heavy, Counting Crows' This Desert Life, and Aquabats' The Return of the Aquabats. Some, all or none of these may or may not be appropriate for work. But if customers can hear any of these over the bland mix of piped-in music we play in the store, then they're standing too damn close. Back off, punk, or I'll v-nail you!

In other news, Bella and I have been doing some serious wedding prep. Everything--especially time--is going so fast now, it's almost scary. But fear not, the one thing I am not scared of is marrying Bella. There couldn't be a more natural, and comfortable, thing to do. I love her dearly and can't wait to call her my wife.

It's been wonderful catching up on things here on the 'net. I didn't realize just how much I missed going online. And I really missed my blog, so hopefully now that I can post to it again, I will do so on a more regular basis.

Well, it's time to download some more music before going to bed. I need to grab the last two tracks from Straylight Run's self-titled album. Then, I'm not entirely embarrassed to admit that I just might download an album by Journey.

I'm Baaaaack!

Mood: thrilled beyond belief
Today's Plan: celebrate!

Thanks to MCI, and no thanks to Gran, AT&T or Charter Communications, I can now go online again! Yes, I have my very own phone line, in my very own name. Finally! Apparently when Charter was installing Gran's "Cable Telephone", they screwed up the wiring for my line. The jackasses connected the red and green wires to the yellow and black screws. Leave it to Greg the Egg, boy genius, to figure out that the red and green wires are supposed to be connected to the red and green screws! By fixing it myself, I saved my wallet $50. Not bad.

At any rate, I have a lot of catching up to do on all of my regular 'net hangouts, so off I go! More later....
