Bella and I have been had! Imagine our delight when we found the cutest little air plant in an even cuter little blue pot. I had heard of such plants deriving all the water and nutrients they need from the air, and no need for soil. They often perch on a host plant, such as a tree. But when I did some research to find out exactly what type of plant we had, I discovered that we don't have a plant at all, but a colony of tiny, dead animals, dyed green. The good news is we can put it wherever the heck we want with no concern for "growing conditions", and it's still pretty darn cute. Give me an air fern over a silk plant any day....
In my research, I did run across info on the real air plants. They're really real. I promise.
